Cortadura

On invitation of the 8th Havana Biennial, the installation Cortadura was conceived as a reflection on the history of the site. In historical fortresses, the cortadura was the last retreat deep within the fortress building. This space here was also used as a prison for a long time. The installation rose with four diagonal ‚wings‘ from the ground to above the ten-meter-high walls. “Imagination and inspiration cannot be imprisoned; they can fly and overcome the highest walls.” (Jens J. Meyer)
