Remote Bay Project

An international land-art event on the island of Mljet turned a whole bay by the sea into an exhibition venue. The solo exhibition consisted of five sitespecific works, three of which are shown : Needles, Bake and Wings.

The Bake referred to historical nautical landmarks, which indicated a place, a harbor or an entrance into a river mouth.

Five kinetic Needles stood in a row out into the sea. They indicated air currents; sensitive like compass needles, they pointed far out beyond the bay.

Wings transformed the traditional crab claw rig into a sculpture. Mounted on a raft and anchored in the bay, wind and current constantly changed its location.
